Making this necklace was a labor of love. When I got the carved mother of pearl, I created a one of a kind design to showcase the beautiful "stone". The silver bezel was hand filed to create a sort of scalloped edge that surrounds the carving. Each of the tiny rays was cut to size and soldered on around the bezel. I wanted the clouds to appear as if they just drifted in front of the moon face. I did this by lifting them up and soldering them above the bezel. After the stone was set I pushed the clouds down on top of the stone. For extra celestial detail, I added some gold accent stars. After everything was soldered, I fused gold to the rays with a method called keum-boo. Keum-boo is an ancient Korean technique of fusing gold to silver. After the keum-boo was applied, I blackened the background to make pendant come to life. For and extra detail, I engraved the back and added some keum-boo accents. I'm really happy with how this piece turned out and can't wait for it to find its new owner.
The length of the pendant is about 1.75" and about 1.25" wide.
The pattern cable chain is 20" long.
All items come in a giftbox.
