"Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable" -Oz
This multi-strand necklace was completely hand forged and fabricated out of sterling silver. The mangled and bandaged heart represents that even when broken it's still there for us.
The left side of the heart has a beautiful peridot bullet cabochon coming through a bullet hole and a copper bandage that looks like its being held on with tiny screws. The right side has a hand cut and polished bezel-set natural agate. The bright red agate was cut into the shape of a half heart and has a beautiful sparkling druzy center. The back of the heart has the quote "Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable" -Oz stamped into the back.
Each link of the 70" of sterling silver cable chain was made by hand and soldered on individually. The sturdy cable chains are permanently soldered to the pendant in four layers and drape around the neck. A spacer bar was added not only to separate the chains but also helps them from getting tangled. The textured spacer has two nuts that have black spinels set in the center and two screw heads on either side.
To complete the Tinman look, the handmade sterling silver tube clasp was made to look like a bolt with a nut at the end. To make it extra special and go along with the Wizard of Oz theme there is a dainty red lab ruby set in the center of the nut.
This necklace is about 17" but can be made to any length necessary.
This necklace comes in a beautiful box and handmade bag.
